RMC is an extremely aggressive kidney cancer that highly affects young individuals with sickle cell trait. This type of cancer is extremely rare and often only shows signs in the late stages. Despite, the rarity and the aggressiveness of this type of cancer, Dwan defeated many of the odds as he fought through rounds of intense chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy sessions over the duration of 11 months.
